The American Legion Post 43 in La Grande is serving up hamburgers each Tuesday evening, from 5PM – 7PM. The public is welcome to come down to 301 Fir Street in La Grande each week to participate.
The Cook Memorial Library’s Literacy Center is open every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in La Grande. From 1:30PM – 5PM, devoted volunteers assist any individual that needs help in all areas of reading, writing, and speaking. There are opportunities to connect with reading partners, develop reading and language skills, and even help with homework for students. This is a perfect opportunity for all ages to receive free help in these literacy skills, or even for someone you care for. The Elgin Lions Club holds Bingo each Wednesday evening at the Elgin Community Center. Doors open just before 6PM, and play starts at 6:30PM. Concessions will also be available.
