You’re invited to participate in a half-day bus tour of selected sites in Union County to view first-hand and learn about agricultural production, research and conservation efforts in the area. The tour also gives you a chance to interact with many local growers and ranchers.

On Wednesday, June 27th, participants are encouraged to arrive at Wallowa Co. Grain Grower’s new office and fertilizer plant (take McAlister/Hunter road 0.4 miles north of the Hwy 82 intersection), at 7AM for coffee & donuts. The program will start at 7:30AM, with buses returning to Wallowa Co. Grain Grower’s at approximately 2PM.

Growers, ranchers, ag service providers, local/regional business representatives, general public, public officials, and anyone else interested in Union County agriculture are all invited to attend!

The day starts with a short program at Wallowa Co. Grain Growers (7:30AM) followed immediately with the bus tour. Parking will be limited and we are exploring options to increase capacity at this site. Periodically along the tour route, participants will unload & reload the buses at various stops which may include areas with difficult terrain. The traditional lunch consisting of barbecue steak, baked potato, and salad will be served to tour participants around Noon at a site along the tour route. Local 4-H Ambassadors and FFA members will be on hand throughout the day to help out. After lunch, bus passengers will be returned to Wallowa Co. Grain Growers at approximately 2PM.

RSVP is not required, however, do show up early enough to get a seat on one of the 4 buses. If buses reach maximum capacity, participants can carpool and follow the buses in personal vehicles. Please be safe, watch out for pedestrians, and follow state & federal motor vehicle regulations.
