On Friday, June 29, 2018, the U.S. Forest Service initiated a 60-day objection-filing period for the Revised Forest Plans. More than 340 individuals and organizations submitted formal objections to various parts of the proposed Blue Mountains Forest Plans. The Forest Service also received 89 Interested Person requests.
The goal of these objection resolution meetings is to provide Objectors and Interested Persons an opportunity to discuss their objection issues with Forest Service leadership, provide clarity around objections issues and discuss potential areas of resolution. Each meeting will include multiple two-hour breakout sessions on specific topics; click here for a complete agenda and schedule for each session.
While solutions may not be immediately reached at the meetings, the conversations will inform the Reviewing Officer and his team of potential resolutions and help inform the final response.
Although the meetings are open for public observation, only Objectors and Interested Persons will be invited to actively participate in the resolution meetings. To ensure each objector and interested person has an opportunity to discuss objections, objectors and interested persons may pre-register for a maximum 2 topic areas during the week to actively engage as one of 20 participants in a formal two-hour discussion session.
Objectors and Interested Persons may also register on-site for additional discussions on any additional day, as long as seats are available. The pre-registration process will be open from November 19-21, between the hours of 9am and 5pm Pacific. We will accept reservations on a first come/first serve basis.
Visit https://sugeni.us/3MEe and follow the instructions on the website. If you cannot pre-register online, you may call 541-241-6870 during the same days and times, above, to leave a message with your registration request for your two sessions.
