Someone shot and killed a yearling heifer on the Zumwalt Prairie, and now… the sheriff’s office is investigating, and the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible. At first, the owner thought it was a wolf kill, but a biologist with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife who was called in, determined that the young, pregnant cow, had been shot in the neck.
