A member of the Joseph City Council passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 16th. It is now being reported that Richard Pointer died at his home in Joseph. Pointer had been resting at home after undergoing leg surgery. No cause of death was released. Richard and his wife, Jeanette, had only lived in Joseph a few years. Pointer served on the council only about six months, after having been appointed to fill a vacant seat. Filling the vacancy left by Pointer’s death will be discussed at the next council meeting, scheduled for Aug. 13.
