Some employees of Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative, who helped save a hunter who had been dangling upside down for two days last summer, were commended for their last week at the La Grande City Council meeting. The efforts of the utility employees are credited with saving the life of 70 year old Edward Voelker of Prineville who was found suspended head down from a tree 20 to 30 feet in the air after he fell while hunting. He had been hanging upside down for two days.
