Continuing a series of town hall meetings throughout Oregon’s Second District, Rep. Greg Walden (R-Hood River) announced today he will be holding four town halls in eastern Oregon in May. Walden will make stops in Baker, Union, Wallowa, and Harney counties for town hall meetings.

“These town halls are another great way for me to update my ‘to-do’ list to take back to the nation’s capital. I hold at least one town hall meeting in every county in our vast district every year, and I look forward to hearing from Oregonians about the issues affecting their lives,” Walden said. “At these meetings, I’ll give a brief update on my work in Congress to help grow the economy in Oregon’s rural communities, find common-sense health care solutions, improve the management of our federal lands, and ensure Oregon veterans are receiving the care and support they deserve. These meetings will be a great opportunity for a substantive discussion with Oregonians on the important issues in their local communities, state, and country.”

Each year, Walden holds at least one town hall meeting in all 20 counties in Oregon’s Second Congressional District. In April, Walden held six town hall meetings across six counties, and will have held 17 by May 9. Walden held 27 town hall meetings in 2016 alone, and has held 143 since 2012.

Oregonians who cannot attend Walden’s town hall meetings but would still like to ask questions or provide input are encouraged to visit his website. There, Oregonians can find Walden’s views on local and regional issues, send him an email to provide input, and sign up for his free, regular newsletter.

Second District residents can also sign up for telephone town hall meetings through Walden’s website. “I’ve gotten very favorable feedback from people in our district from the telephone town halls. These are especially important for those who have difficulty with transportation. They give people whose voice might not otherwise be heard a chance to weigh in on public policy,” Walden said.

Constituents can also follow Walden on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to learn more about his work around southern, central, and eastern Oregon.
