Jim Kreider with Union County Progressives and the Stop B2H Coalition joins The Morning Buzz to invite everyone to attend an information event regarding the proposed Boardman To Hemingway transmission line project.

This project aims to build a 500kv transmission line that would span across 5 different counties along a 300+ mile route from Boardman, Oregon to Hemingway, Idaho. Jim explains the details regarding what it would take in order to construct a transmission line of this size through the proposed path.

We also discuss the concerns that have been raised about this project, including visibility issues, plant & wildlife disruptions, and even whether infrastructure of this magnitude is even necessary given projected energy usage in the Northwest.

The Stop B2H Coalition will be holding a free information event on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in La Grande, beginning at 6:30PM.
