Farm animals are a subject of concern in La Grande now. People living in the Hillside Development Residential and Rural Residental zones can already have horses, cows, goats, sheep, and poultry if they own enough property. Now city council is considering an amendment that would allow rabbits, ducks, and chickens… but not roosters… in other city zones. At this week’s meeting, council seemed to lean against making the change, but an official decision was not reached, and will be left for a future city council meeting.
