Attendance at last week’s four-day Union County Fair was higher than a year ago, marking the third straight year fair attendance has been up. While final figures are not yet available, fair officials say attendance was highest on Friday. Last Saturday everyone age 17 and younger got in free, which boosted attendance. The fair ran from July 31 through August 3rd. The weather was warm but not too hot, and air quality was good, which also helped. This year’s fair also included new events and activities. The Union County Fair Board will soon begin making plans for the 2020 fair. The board currently has two openings, and they say they are always looking for volunteers and people who are interested in helping.
