The Union County Board of Commissioners has voted to adopt an ordinance allowing people to ride all-terrain vehicles on most roads in Union County. Supporters say it will attract more people to Union County, which will be good for the local economy… boosting business for restaurants, motels, and stores. Opponents of the ordinance said they feared that it would increase the number of fatal ATV accidents in Union County. They pointed to National Transportation Safety Board statistics which indicate that the majority of ATV-related fatal accidents occur on two-lane dirt roads and paved roads.
