In Union County, an ordinance that would allow ATVs to be driven on most roads is getting closer to reality. Last week, the Union County Board of Commissioners approved a first reading of an ordinance that if passed, they say will add to the livability of our area. Those pushing for its passage, say it would help the economy, and increase tourism. Some roads would still remain off limits to ATVs because of the existing speed and volume of car and truck traffic on them. A second hearing on the ordinance will be conducted July 17.
