Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative members in Union, Baker and Harney counties interested in attending OTEC’s Annual Meeting of the Membership can now signup for free bus service to the meeting in John Day.
Signup sheets are available at the following locations:
- Union County Senior Center, 1504 N. Albany St., La Grande
- Baker County Senior Center, 2810 Cedar St., Baker City
- Harney County Senior Center, 17 S Alder Ave., Burns
OTEC is providing bus transportation to the annual meeting for members and spouses only. The buses are scheduled to depart from the senior centers in La Grande at 7:15AM, Baker City at 8:15AM, and Burns at 8:30AM. Following the annual meeting, the buses are scheduled to return passengers to the senior centers in Burns by 3:15PM, Baker City by 3:15PM, and La Grande by 4:30PM All times are approximate.
The La Grande-Baker bus, which holds a maximum of 47 individuals, is a chartered bus, with an onboard restroom and plenty of storage underneath for wheelchairs or walkers. However, members will need to be able to climb the steps to get to their seat. The Burns vehicle holds a maximum of 18 passengers and is wheelchair accessible, holding two wheelchairs, which reduces the limit to 16 passengers.
Signup sheets will be available until Tuesday, April 30, or until they are filled.
The annual meeting is Saturday, May 4, at the Grant County Fairgrounds, 411 NW Bridge St., John Day. Doors to the event open at 10AM for members to register and browse informational booths. The business meeting will begin at 11AM with an update from OTEC CEO Les Penning and Board President Austin Bingaman, followed by prize drawings and giveaways. There will also be live music provided by Generations, a catered lunch, youth safety poster winner awards and some words from OTEC’s 2018 D.C. Youth Tour participants.
