House Speaker Tina Kotek (D-Portland) announced Monday evening that Representative Lynn Findley (R-Vale) of House District 60, has been appointed to become a member of the Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles. The Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles was created to develop recommendations for legislation regarding autonomous vehicle safety, cyber security and much more.

The Board, pursuant to HB 4063 (2018), creates a 26-person task force to work with Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) to discuss the forthcoming state of autonomous vehicles in Oregon and how laws will shape around them.

Rep. Findley said, “Autonomous vehicles are becoming more prominent in our state and I look forward to being on the task force to help shape future legislation around their development and implementation in the coming years. It is amazing how far technology has come, and it is important for us to talk about how we are going to maintain safety on our roads as these vehicles continue to advance.”

Rep. Findley replaced Sen. Denyc Boles on the Autonomous Vehicles Task Force effective immediately on Monday, August 12th, 2019 and currently serves on the Joint Committee on Transportation.
